2018 Offshore Jonah Crab (Maritimes Region) – Lobster Fishing Area 41

The 2018 Offshore Jonah Crab fishery occurs in Lobster Fishing Area (LFA) 41, as defined within the Atlantic Fishery Regulations, 1985 (Schedule XIII).

Dates of season (subject to change)

The Offshore Jonah Crab Fishery operates year round, from January 1st – December 31st.

Total Allowable Catches

The 2018 Interim TAC for Offshore Jonah Crab is 270t. Adjustments at a future date, including a potential increase to the historical level of 540t, may be made should scientific analyses indicate that some other level of exploitation can be sustained.

Management measures

Offshore Jonah Crab is managed under the Offshore Lobster and Jonah Crab Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (IFMP).
