Cost-Benefit Analyses of Proposed Regulations

The Cabinet Directive on Regulation (the Directive), requires the analysis of incremental costs and benefits of proposed federal regulations as part of a Regulatory Impact Analysis. For Regulatory proposals expected to impose significant costs (greater than $1 million per year) on businesses, government and Canadians, including Indigenous communities, departments are required to develop the cost-benefit analysis (CBA) report. As required by the Directive and for purposes of analytical transparency, the following CBA reports referenced in Regulatory Impact Analysis Statements published in support of DFO’s regulatory proposals are made publicly available.
