Online renewal of commercial licence document
- All Online Commercial Licence Renewal Services (Licence renewal and Fisher/vessel registration) are handled within 5 business days, once all required documentation and fees have been received and there are no outstanding issues.
Online additional commercial licence services
- All Online Commercial Licence Services are handled within 30 business days once all required documentation and fees have been received and there are no outstanding issues (i.e.: issuance of new commercial licences; new fisher/vessel registrations; issuance of transfer permits etc.).
- All vessel transfers are handled within 10 business days, once all required documentation and fees have been received and there are no outstanding issues.
Licensing accessibility and support
- Access to National Online Licensing System is available 24 hours a day, seven days per week.*

Online recreational licence issuance in Atlantic Canada
- Processing applications for the renewal of recreational licences (Atlantic) within 5 business days, once all required documentation and fees have been received and there are no outstanding issues.
- Processing applications for new recreational licences (Atlantic) within 30 business days, once all required documentation and fees have been received and there are no outstanding issues.
Offline services currently delivered by the Regional Licensing Programs
- All licensing requests that are handled outside the National Online Licensing System are handled within 30 business days.
Performance targets
For Online Additional Commercial Licence Services and Offline Services currently delivered by the Regional Licensing Programs, the target for achieving the corresponding standard is set at 75 percent of the time.
For Online Renewal of Commercial Licence Documents, Online Recreational Licence Issuance in Atlantic Canada and Accessibility to the National Online Licensing System and Telephone Support, the target for achieving the corresponding standard will be 98 percent of the time (outside regular scheduled systems maintenance); the target for achieving the email support standard will be set at 80 percent of the time.

All service standards listed above were provided during regular business hours (08:30 to 16:30 local time) for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.
Applying for Online Services delivered through the National Online Licensing System (NOLS) and Recreational Licences
The renewal, payment of fees and electronic issuance of licence documents are managed through the web-based, National Online Licensing System, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at: https://fishing-peche.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/.
