Fisheries
Fisheries: We sustainably manage Canada’s commercial, recreational and Indigenous fisheries and aquaculture activities.
Aquatic Ecosystems
Aquatic Ecosystems: We study, conserve and protect Canada’s oceans, coasts, waterways and aquatic species.
Marine Navigation
Marine Navigation: We provide essential information and services to keep Canada’s waters safe, secure and accessible, ensuring our harbours remain open and in good repair.

Marine Operations and Response: We offer vital marine response services, responding to vessels and individuals in distress and operate Canada’s civilian maritime fleet.

With cutting-edge science from our research institutes and laboratories across Canada.
By patrolling Canada’s rugged coast lines, responding to pollution incidents and saving lives – an average of 15 per day.
Keeping shipping routes clear of ice and facilitating the safe and efficient transport of more than 470 million tons of cargo transiting through Canadian ports each year.
Consulting and engaging with Indigenous peoples and other stakeholders.
