Order varying the close times and quotas for commercial fishing in certain waters of Nunavut - Schedule V (2018)

The Regional Director General of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada for the Central and Arctic Region, pursuant to paragraph 43(m) of the Fisheries Act and to subsection 6 (1) of the Fishery (General) Regulations, hereby revokes Variation Order NU-2017/2018 V-004 and makes the annexed Order varying the close time(s) and/or quota(s) for commercial fishing in certain waters of Nunavut as set out in the Schedule to this Order.

Order varying the close times and quotas for commercial fishing in certain waters of Nunavut

Short Title

1. This Order may be cited as the Central and Arctic Region Variation Order, NU-2018/2019 V-001.

Variation

2. The close time for commercial fishing in certain waters in Nunavut as fixed by subsection 18 (1) (b) of the Northwest Territories Fishery Regulations, as set out in Column IV of each item in Schedule V, thereto, is hereby varied so that no person shall fish in any waters set out in Column I of an item of Schedule V for any species of fish set out in Column II, during the close time set out in Column IV in the Schedule attached to this Order.
3. The quota for commercial fishing in certain waters in Nunavut as fixed by subsection 19 (1) of the Northwest Territories Fishery Regulations, as set out in Column V of each item in Schedule V thereto, is hereby varied so that no person shall fish in the waters set out in column I of an item of Schedule V after the time specified in a notice issued by the Regional Director General or a fishery officer stating that the quota set out in Column V of that item has been or is about to be reached of that item in the Schedule attached to this Order.

Coming Into Force

4. This Order shall come into force on the date of signature and remains in force, unless otherwise varied.
