2017 Offshore Lobster (Maritimes Region) – Lobster Fishing Area 41

The 2017 Offshore Lobster fishery occurs in Lobster Fishing Area (LFA) 41, as defined within the Atlantic Fishery Regulations, 1985 (Schedule XIII).

Dates of season (subject to change)

The Offshore Lobster Fishery operates year round, from January 1st – December 31st.

Total Allowable Catches

The 2017 TAC for Offshore Lobster (LFA 41) is 720t, which has remained consistent since 1985, and is based on historical landings. 

Management Measures

The Maritimes Region Offshore Lobster fishery is managed under the Offshore Lobster and Jonah Crab Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (IFMP).

Single or Multi-year Planning

As the stock is currently in the healthy zone, a three-year quota management cycle is available to licence holders.
