Management Decision for 2020/21 - Northern Shrimp Fishing Areas (SFAs) 4, 5, 6

SFAs 4 – 6 operate year round, from April 1 – March 31.

Total allowable catches (TACs)

SFA 4

The TAC in SFA 4 for Pandalus borealis will be reduced by 20.2% to 8,658t (18% exploitation rate (ER) using a two-year average), which includes a 1,500t allocation for Use of Fish under Section 10 of the Fisheries Act.

The Pandalus montagui bycatch limit will remain at the 2019/20 level of 4,033t.

SFA 5

The TAC in SFA 5 will be reduced by 34.6% to 14,450t (20% ER using a two-year average).

SFA 6

The Total Allowable Catch in SFA 6 will be reduced by 7.5% to 8,290t to maintain a 10% exploitation rate.
