2020 herring fishery (Maritimes Region) – Eastern Shore herring gillnet fishery

The Eastern Shore herring gillnet fishery occurs in the spawning areas off Eastern Nova Scotia (ENS).

Dates of season (subject to change)

The Eastern Shore fishery operates from September 15, 2020 – December 31, 2020.

Total allowable catch

The 2020 total allowable catch (TAC) is 7,303 tonnes.

Management measures

The Atlantic herring fisheries are managed under the Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (IFMP) and the Canadian Atlantic Herring SWNS Rebuilding Plan.
