Management decision for 2024/25 Northern Shrimp Fishing Areas (SFAs) 4, 5 and 6

SFAs 4, 5, and 6 operate year round, from April 1 to March 31.
Total Allowable Catches (TAC)
SFA 4
The TAC in SFA 4 for Pandalus borealis will be increased by 4.5% from 14,886t in 2023/24 to 15,553t in 2024/25 (19.2% exploitation rate (ER)), which includes a 1,500t allocation for Use of Fish under Section 10 of the Fisheries Act.
The Pandalus montagui bycatch limit will remain at the 2023/24 level of 4,033t (10.5% ER).
SFA 5
The TAC in SFA 5 was reduced by 11.1 % from 2023/24 levels from 14,200t to 12,618t in 2024/2025 (21.4% ER).
SFA 6
The TAC in SFA 6 was reduced by 5.5% from 2023/24 levels from 9,430t to 8,909t in 2024/25 (10% ER).
