The Government of Canada is seeking input on the draft Ocean Noise Strategy for Canada. The purpose of the draft strategy is to:
- develop a coordinated approach to better understand the complex threat of ocean noise
- build on existing work while maximizing the use of knowledge and resources
- coordinate actions and predictable expectations
- guide future partnerships and initiatives to minimize impacts on marine life
The draft strategy includes recommendations intended to guide and support improved coordination of federal efforts on all ocean noise sources in the areas of:
- science, knowledge gathering and innovation
- assessment and management
- communication, coordination and engagement
The feedback received will help inform the finalization of the strategy's recommendations and the development of a Federal Action Plan on underwater ocean noise.

Your ideas and input are sought around the following themes/topics:
- the 20 recommendations of the draft Ocean Noise Strategy for Canada
- potential actions to achieve the objectives of the strategy
- any recommendations that may be missing, including those that may relate to future threats or opportunities
The input gathered through this process will be used to finalize the strategy and develop a federal action plan on ocean noise.
