Context

The most recent peer-reviewed assessment of Atlantic Salmon of Salmon Fishing Areas 15 to 18 of DFO Gulf Region provided information up to and including the 2013 return year (SAR 2014/057). Monitoring at index rivers continues on an annual basis. An annual update on Atlantic Salmon adult and juvenile indices was most recently provided up to 2021 assessment year (SR 2022/021). DFO Fisheries and Harbour Management requested an update for 2022 of the adult and juvenile Atlantic Salmon indices for the index rivers in DFO Gulf Region.

Objectives

The objective of the meeting is to review the indicators of abundance of adult and juvenile Atlantic Salmon in the index rivers of DFO Gulf Region to 2022.
