Repealed: Interim Order repealed for the protection of the North Atlantic Right Whales (Eubalaena Glacialis) in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, 2024
Transport Canada (TC) – November 15, 2024 – This notice to fish harvesters is issued in accordance with the Transport Canada 2024 vessel traffic management measures to protect North Atlantic right whales in Canada.
Speed Restrictions in the static zones, dynamic shipping zones, seasonal management areas, and voluntary seasonal slowdown zone - Repealed
On April 17, 2024, the Interim Order for the Protection of the North Atlantic Right Whales (Eubalaena glacialis) in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, 2024 came into effect. ThisInterim Order created speed restrictions over ground within the static zones, dynamic shipping zones, and seasonal management areas, in the Gulf of St. Lawrence to reduce the risk to North Atlantic Right Whales.
The Interim Order for the Protection of North Atlantic Right Whales (Eubalaena glacialis) in The Gulf of St. Lawrence, made on April 17, 2024, is repealed on November 15, 2024.
Additionally, the voluntary seasonal slowdown in Cabot Strait ends on November 15, 2024.
A NAVWARN will come into effect at 0500 UTC on November 16th, 2024.
