Paper Logbooks and Other Data Collection Forms

Fish harvesters across Canada are responsible for obtaining their own Logbooks and Combined forms.

Please see the following list to find a prequalified supplier of logbooks and forms in your area:

Logbook keeping is mandatory under Section 61 of the Fisheries Act, as outlined in the licence conditions specific to each fishery in Canada. Fish harvesters are required to record information about their fishing catch and effort, and submit this data to DFO as specified.

The Department is currently soliciting the interest of companies and/or fishing organizations and/or Aboriginal groups that are capable of printing and distributing Logbooks and Combined Forms to individual fish harvesters and/or groups of participants in specific fisheries. Once an applicant has been prequalified by the Department, its contact information will be added to the current list of suppliers.
