Conditional Management Plan summary for Cornwall, Prince Edward Island
This document provides a description of the shellfish growing area that is managed under a Conditional Management Plan (CMP) for Cornwall (PE). It also describes the detection, notification and response (DNR) times needed for parties to fulfill their CMP roles when sewage is discharged from the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) system.

Area classification description
Shellfish harvest areas near the WWTP are divided into zones based on how intermittent sewage discharge from the WWTP will impact the sanitary quality of the water. Harvesting activities in these zones are classified as either:
- prohibited
- restricted
- conditionally restricted
- conditionally approved
The current classification of West River and Hyde Creek is described as follows:
Prohibited
The waters of Hydes Creek upstream of a line drawn from 46.21131 N, 63.20324 O to 46.21588 N, 63.20214 O.
Conditionally restricted
The waters of Hydes Creek downstream of the prohibited area boundary from 46.21131 N, 63.20324 O to 46.21588 N, 63.20214 O, and upstream of a line drawn from 46.20452 N, 63.19845 O to 46.21092 N, 63.18656 O.
Note that the conditionally-restricted waters beyond the mouth of Hydes Creek are managed under a Conditional Management Plan for the Charlottetown wastewater system.
