Electronic devices

The Department will work closely with Shared Services Canada (SSC) to ensure your Information Technology requirements and those of your office are met. This will include establishing network and email accounts, providing wireless devices, computers and peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.) as required to all members of your office.

Blackberry devices for you, your Chief of Staff and employees are available for your consideration and will be activated for use on swearing-in day. The following model will be available:

All devices will require configuration by departmental technical staff as part of the employee setup process. This process will also provide Ministerial staff with a departmental email and network access account and takes approximately 1 business day.

In addition, you will have options related to your preference of any of the following four devices, all of which are available for your hands on review:

The Department’s Chief Information Officer is available to brief you on these options, address any specific needs you may have and assist you in getting set up on these devices. Similarly, an IT service technician will be available to assist any member of your office as required.
