Assistant Deputy Minister Dominic Laporte

Assistant Deputy Minister, Human Resources and Corporate Services

On February 20, 2017, Dominic Laporte joined Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), appointed as the Assistant Deputy Minister of the Human Resources and Corporate Services sector. In this capacity, Dominic oversees all of Human Resources, Real Property, Information Management and Technology Services, as well as Security and Emergency Services for the Department. Dominic served as Executive Director, Pension Policy and Programs, in the Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer at the Treasury Board Secretariat. In this capacity, he provided strategic policy advice to the Assistant Deputy Minister, the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Secretary and the President of the Treasury Board related to the design, governance and financial sustainability of various federal pension plans, including the public service pension plan and the Members of Parliament pension plan. From 2009 to 2014, Dominic was with the Canadian International Trade Tribunal as Secretary and then Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer. Since 2016, he has been a Board Member with the Federal Public Service Health Care Plan Administration Authority.
