Director General Marian Hubley

Director General, Communications

Marian Hubley has been Director General of Communications at Fisheries and Oceans Canada since June 2017.

Marian has over 30 years of experience working in Government of Canada communications in positions of increasing responsibility. Marian is experienced in managing complex issues and providing advice to ministers, senior management and central agencies on communications.

Between 2012 and 2017 Marian was Director General of Ministerial Services and Integrated Communications at Health Canada, where she was responsible for media relations and monitoring, ministerial events, internal communications, executive correspondence and regional communications. Between 2008 and 2012, Marian was the Executive Director of Communications at Transport Canada. Marian previously worked at DFO between 2002 and 2008, serving as Director of Strategic Communications.
