Context

The status of NAFO Divisions 2J3KL cod was last assessed in March 2011. A current stock assessment update is requested by Fisheries and Aquaculture Management to provide the Minister with advice on the latest status of the stock.

Objectives

• Update the offshore indices (fall survey abundance, biomass, SSB and trends in total mortality (Z)).
• Update the inshore sentinel catch rate index and fishery exploitation rate based on tagging.

Expected Publications

A Science Response (SRR) report will be produced.
