Context

The status of Divs. 2HJ3KLNO, Subdiv. 3Ps and Div. 4R Snow Crab was assessed in 2016.  The current assessment of the stock components was requested by Fisheries Management to provide current information on the status of the resource and to provide the data that will be used in the 2017 Snow Crab Management Plan.

Objectives

• To assess the status of snow crab resource: Divisions 2HJ3KLNOP4R;
• To determine the impact of maintaining the current harvest levels; and
• To provide status updates on the Precautionary Approach (PA) framework reference points and harvest control rules.
