Context
The status of Northern Shrimp (Pandalus borealis) and Striped Shrimp (Pandalus montagui) in the Eastern and Western Assessment Zones, and Striped Shrimp in Shrimp Fishing Area (SFA) 4, were assessed in 2017 (DFO 2017a, 2017b).
Resource Management has requested the current update as the basis for harvest advice for the 2018/19 fishing season.
Objective
The objectives are to review indicators for Northern Shrimp and Striped Shrimp in the Eastern and Western Assessment Zones, and Striped Shrimp in SFA 4 as follows:
- Update landings
- Update biomass indices
- Update exploitation rate indices
- Update the precautionary approach framework, where applicable
