On March 27-28, 2007, experts from management agencies responsible for the American eel in Canada, including the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the Provinces of Ontario and Quebec, as well as United States management agencies, universities, fishers and the private sector from around the world reviewed information related to eel stocking to ensure that potential risks were minimized or mitigated, and to maximize learning opportunities.
