Context

The status of NAFO Divisions 2J3KL cod was last assessed in March 2013 (DFO 2013).  An update was completed in March 2014 (DFO 2014). A current stock assessment update is requested by Fisheries Management to provide the Minister with advice on the latest status of the stock.

Objectives

Update the offshore indices (fall survey abundance, biomass, recruitment, SSB and trends in total mortality [Z]).

Update the inshore sentinel catch rate index and fishery exploitation rate based on tagging.
