Context

The status of 4VW shrimp was last assessed in 2014 (DFO, 2015). The current update is requested by Fisheries and Aquaculture Management Branch to provide harvest advice for 2016. The last update was completed in 2013 (DFO, 2014).

Objectives

• Evaluate the overall status of Scotian Shelf shrimp in Shrimp Fishing Areas (SFAs) 13-15 as of the fall of 2015, including relative stock abundance and exploitation rate.
• Evaluate the consequences of different harvest levels during the 2016 fishery on stock abundance and exploitation rate.
