- Significant aggregations (dense groups) of horse mussels found on bedforms (mounds on the seafloor)
- Additional research and analysis is underway on horse mussel aggregations and bedforms to better understand their locations and role in the environment
- Significant concentrations of lemon weed

This area supports species including:
- Horse mussels
- Sponges and soft corals
- Brittle stars
- Lemon weed (Flustra foliacea)
Use
- Current fisheries include groundfish (fixed and mobile gear), herring (mobile gear), lobster, scallop, swordfish and tuna.
- Licences issued to First Nations and Indigenous communities provide access to this area to fish for food, social and ceremonial purposes.
- An active submarine power cable crosses through the northeast part of this area.
