4. What we are looking for and evaluation of proposals
Evaluation criteria
Once a funding application has been submitted, it will be reviewed.
Proposed projects must meet eligibility and other requirements for potential funding.
Key criteria that will be considered in examining a proposal include:
- your eligibility
- whether the proposed project:
- is Indigenous led
- is for an eligible activity
- addresses overall program objectives
- addresses national and regional priorities
- is of overall quality (well planned, thought out, ideas and the plan are well communicated) and is feasible (ability to start and successfully complete the project)
- generates environmental benefits
- has multiple partners
- has a letter of support from the lead provincial or territorial agency
- links and supports broader Fisheries and Oceans Canada initiatives, such as:
- includes skills development related to identification, early detection, response, control management and/or reporting on aquatic invasive species
- has lasting impact after the funding ends
For more information on previously funded projects, consult the list of funded projects. You may also contact your local regional program coordinator (see below).
